Deformation characteristics and forming force limits of multi-point forming with individually controlled force–displacement

To solve the problem of springback in traditional multi-point forming (MPF), a new process, namely, with individually controlled force–displacement (MPF-ICFD), is proposed. In this manuscript, MPF and MPF-ICFD are compared. Taking cylindrical surface as research object, change plate analysed by experiments, distribution strain wall thickness numerical simulation. Theoretical analysis used to calculate window for results from theoretical verified experiments The show that 1060 aluminium alloy Q295 can be decreased 73.8% 45.5%, respectively, compared MPF. MPF, uniformity poor, maximum thinning rate 4.5%. For MPF-ICFD, relatively uniform, 0.25%. an sheet 1.5–3 mm, upper lower limits force single head observed linearly 6.3 12.6 kN 0.5 1 kN, respectively.
